Q&A

What attracted you to TSG?

What I've come to love in the investing world is understanding how human factors play into and influence business. Thus when I was looking for my next move I was immediately drawn towards TSG’s strategy of combining data analytics with an understanding of the human psyche to identify up-and-coming consumer trends and the winning brands within those. My interest in the human side of things also makes me passionate about being surrounded by likeminded people and I was so impressed with the TSG team. They're truly engaged with and proud of the work they do and I wanted to be part of a team with that type of energy.

What attracted you to the business of brand building?

I have always been in awe of brands that are able to make such a strong connection with their consumers that they surpass the product or service offering, instead coming to represent a feeling that stays with the consumer. For example, to me, CorePower isn’t a workout class––it is what I associate with peace of mind and reflection. To get to be a part of a brand’s journey of discovery and evolution towards longterm resonance with a consumer is very rewarding.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

I was one of those kids that loved to ask her parents, “Why?”, over and over again. While I am sure my parents didn’t always appreciate having to answer all of my "whys," they never discouraged my inquisitive nature. Their decision not to say "Just because." or "Be quiet." was the best advice I ever received. It taught me to question, make my own opinions, and lean into the places my curiosity could take me.
