Jess works with our partner companies and is involved in due diligence of our investments.
Prior to joining TSG Consumer Partners, Jess was with Barclays in the Investment Banking Division, working with Consumer and Retail clients across a variety of transactions including mergers and acquisitions as well as debt and equity financings. She graduated from Colby College with a BA in Global Studies and Economics, concentrating in Financial Markets.

What was the first job you had?
I was the first employee at my neighborhood’s local frozen yogurt shop. When I got the job, my boss asked me for recommendations on who else to hire, so I picked a handful of my friends to join me - great firsthand experience on the power of a network!
What brings you the most joy in your job?
The people. I find it both inspiring and motivating to be able to work alongside individuals who are not only incredibly smart and good at what they do, but are also passionate about their work. This is a relationship industry / business, so I really value being surrounded by role models and mentors across TSG and our partner companies.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
From when I was young, my mother would remind me to “always trust your gut” when faced with uncertainty and challenges. This has remained a guiding principle of mine and is important to remember as an investor. Diligence and quantitative learning is a prerequisite to making any informed decision, but it never tells the whole story, so you should never forget to listen to your intuition.
What attracted you to the business of brand building?
Brand is an undeniably powerful and influential component to consumer preferences and decisions. The roadmap to building a lasting brand is not "one size fits all," and the journey constantly evolves alongside consumer trends and behaviors. It is precisely this variability and nuance, paired with the impact a strong brand can make that excites me as I partner with companies in navigating how to build and enhance their brand.
